Former Senior Banker Joins Australian Financial Planning Association

The , the Australian association for the financial planning profession, has named a former NAB Wealth executive to newly-created senior role. Tom Reddacliff is assumes the post of general manager for member growth and marketing, after serving as general manager for customer retention and mature products at NAB Wealth, the wealth management arm of National Australia Bank. In this new role, he will focus on working with professional practices, FPA partners and members to help improve professionalism and certification in the sector, according to a statement. Reddacliff joins the organisation at an important time. In 2010, members of the FPA voted in favour of the abolition of corporate membership to focus on individual financial planners. In July 2013, the group required that members should have a university degree in a relevant discipline to join. By the end of 2013, the FPA finally announced that it is financially independent, funded solely by membership fee income. He joins the group in 2 June 2014. By this appointment, the role of national sales manager will be abolished and Paul Barsby will be leading the FPA.
